Nduta, who was picked by police officers at a restaurant in Kandara, is alleged to have met with the embattled MP at the time when the latter was said to be missing.
The arrest of the MCA brings the number to four suspects in police custody over the matter. Police have moved to court seeking 15 days to detain the three suspects to allow them to conclude investigations.
From deep reflections on the unfortunate events, to making frantic calls to find her whereabouts, family, friends, and colleagues of Kanyenyaini MCA Grace Nduta City were in distraught hours after she was allegedly taken away by unknown men.
Nduta’s driver, who was last seen with the MCA, said she received a call from an unidentified man to meet at a restaurant in Kandara before hell broke loose.
Nikamwambia ajiangalie … Kukaa nikampigia simu lakini simu haiingii," Joseph Kamau, Nduta's driver stated.
He drove back only to confirm his worst fears. The hotel management confirmed that her boss had been taken away by three men he had earlier spotted and driven out of the premises in a huff.
I think huyo jamaa ndiye aliita hao wengine watatu hivi," the driver added.
The family suspects the MCA was arrested due to her close relations with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, whom she recently hosted at her ward.
“Alileta mheshimiwa Rigathi Gachagua.
“Ukifanya makosa yoyote unafaa kushikwa kisheria.
Police have confirmed the arrest of the MCA, saying she is being questioned over her close links to Koimburi, with reports indicating they met when the MP was reported missing.
DCI, in a miscellaneous application filed in court, has requested to hold three other suspects arrested in connection with the alleged self-abduction for 15 days. The case will be heard on Friday.
