Kansas City man arrested on accusations of violent kidnapping, assault
BELTON, Mo. (KCTV) - Cass County prosecutors are pursuing charges against a man accused of kidnapping and assaulting a woman he was dating.
Court documents state that the Belton Police Department was called to a woman’s residence around 3:40 a.m. on April 8, 2025. Dispatchers had received a 911 text message requesting help after someone reportedly kicked in her door and entered.
When officers arrived, the woman said the suspect had already left, but she identified him as 33-year-old Trorant E. Miller, Jr. She explained that she and Miller were dating and he had stayed at her home the night before.
The woman then told officers that around 3 a.m. that morning, she was standing outside Aura Nightclub in Kansas City, Missouri, with her friends when Miller pulled up in a car and saw her. She didn’t know how he knew she was there, but suspected he may have seen her in a video posted to her friend’s social media account.
According to the court documents, the woman said there was “gun play” happening at the club and she wanted to leave, so she agreed to let Miller drive her home when he offered.
She said that after they dropped another man off at home, Miller immediately became violent and grabbed her hair, demanding that she perform sex acts. The woman repeatedly refused and asked to be let out of the car. She described Miller’s attempts to get her to do what he wanted as switching between promising to be nicer to her if she did and threatening her.
At one point, the woman said she tried to open the car door and get the attention of other drivers while they were stopped at a red light, but she was unsuccessful. After that, she said Miller drove 120 miles per hour and ran every stop sign until they got to her home to prevent her from trying to escape again.
Once they arrived at her home, the woman claimed that Miller threatened to assault her if she did not do the sex acts he was demanding. When they entered the home, she said he again became violent by grabbing her hair and hitting her. She fought against him and grabbed a knife, which he took from her and reportedly tried to attack her with.
Miller went outside at one point, so the woman shut the door and locked it behind him. She then grabbed one of her two phones to call 911 and got her gun out of her purse. Then Miller kicked the door in, and she said he took the gun from her and disassembled it, then continued the physical altercation.
The documents allege that Miller then dragged the woman out of her home and back into his car, and said he would kill her once he realized she was on the phone with police.

Holding her hair in one hand, the woman said Miller started to drive out of the parking lot but had to let go to make a turn, so she shifted the car into park and got out to run back home. Miller did not follow her.
Belton police reported finding a Glock in the woman’s home, which she said was Miller’s. When investigators spoke to the registered owner, he advised them that the gun had been stolen from his vehicle in Kansas City.
A warrant was issued for Miller’s arrest on April 14, and he is currently in Cass County custody on six felony charges:
- First-degree burglary
- Third-degree domestic assault
- Second-degree property damage
- Unlawful use of a weapon
- First-degree kidnapping
- Armed criminal action
He is being held under a $75,000 bond with a counsel status hearing scheduled for April 16.
